her name.
Kasie Ford Capling Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund, the “Kasie Smiles” Scholarship.
The Kasie Smiles scholarship was established from proceeds from the Kasie Smiles Foundation in connection with
several private individuals. The scholarship is administered by the Foundation For The Carolinas.
The scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Mecklenburg county, public or private schools, who has
lost one or more parents. The scholarship emphasizes leadership, athletics and academics as key characteristics for
the applicant receiving the scholarship.
Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship
The North Carolina Technology Association’s (NCTA) WISE program provides opportunities for women in all aspects of
the knowledge workforce to pursue career and personal goals.
The NCTA WISE Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Kasie Capling, a Charlotte WISE
Steering Committee Member. She was a leader in IT Staffing and dedicated to promoting the career of hundreds of IT
professionals. The Scholarship has been established to continue Kasie’s legacy of helping foster the careers of
individuals in the fields of Information Technology and Engineering.
The scholarship recipient must be female, must be a freshman, re-entry or transfer student accepted into an
Engineering or Computer Science program at an accredited college or university, and have a minimum grade point
average of 3.0/4.0.
Kasie Ford Capling Memorial Scholarship
Charlotte Smiles is a local organization made up of lifelong friends who want to help those that are less fortunate
in the Charlotte Area.
This scholarship program was established by Charlotte Smiles in honor of Kasie Ford Capling and is to be awarded to
an outstanding senior at West Mecklenburg High School.
The scholarship emphasizes academics, extracurricular activities including community involvement and other overall
accomplishments. In addition selection is based on the applicants essay on friendship and interviews with the selection
committee.
